Installing a Flexible Irrigation System

). A flexible watering system operates on low pressure, so it is necessary to fit a pressure regulator and water filter on to the pipework just after it leaves the main supply point to adjust for the correct pressure.

). Lay out the lateral hose pipes and attach them to the main supply hose following your original plan. When they are securely attached, run water through the system to flush out any debris.

). Drill holes in the main hose where they are needed. Insert the outlets or the transfer points. Attach points wherever they are required, taking into account the different watering requirements of your plants.

). Complete the entire hosepipe run, flush out the system a second time, ensuring that all outlets are working. The system can be covered, but ensure the ends of the small diameter tubing remain above ground.
